Kaleidogscope dachshund harness

From £34.00

Big chest. Long back.
Short legs.

Longer connecting straps under the chest and along the back give their long body more room. The Y-shaped front leaves their shoulders free, with the chest strap sitting behind their front legs.

Shipping policy ↗

30 days to get it right.

Standard size not quite right? Return or exchange it unused within 30 days of delivery. See our returns policy.

Please contact us before sending it back.

Made-to-measure

Custom sizes cannot be returned or exchanged for a change of mind. If an item is faulty or incorrect, please contact us. Your statutory rights are unaffected.

Full return details

Standard sizes: 30 days to get it right.

If a standard-size item is not quite right, contact us within 30 days of delivery to arrange a return or exchange. Please send it back within 14 days of telling us.

For our 30-day promise, keep it unused, clean and in its original condition. A brief indoor fit check is fine. Please include the packaging where possible. Sale items have the same return rights.

Made-to-measure sizes

Items made to your dog's individual measurements cannot be returned or exchanged simply because you change your mind. Choosing a standard size, print or hardware colour does not make an item made-to-measure. Your rights if something is faulty, incorrect or not as described still apply.

How to start a return

Email hello@mindthefluff.co.uk with your order number or other proof of purchase and the item you want to return. Tell us if you would prefer a refund or an exchange. We will provide the return address and instructions. Keep proof of posting.

You pay the direct return postage for a change-of-mind return. If an item is faulty, damaged on arrival, incorrect or not as described, we cover reasonable return costs. Contact us so we can arrange this.

Refunds and exchanges

Refunds go to the original payment method without undue delay and within 14 days of receiving the return or evidence that you sent it, whichever is earlier. We do not charge a restocking fee.

If you cancel your whole order under the UK 14-day cancellation right, we also refund the standard outbound delivery charge. Any extra paid for an upgraded delivery service is not refundable. For a change-of-mind return under our extra days 15 to 30, the refund covers the returned items.

Exchanges depend on availability. We will agree any price difference or delivery cost with you before sending a replacement. If the replacement is unavailable, we will refund you instead.

Your UK cancellation rights

For eligible online purchases, you can tell us you are cancelling within 14 days after delivery, without giving a reason. You then have another 14 days to send the goods back. Emailing us is enough; you do not need our permission to exercise this right.

You can inspect an item as you would in a shop. We may reduce a cancellation refund only for loss in value caused by handling beyond what is needed to check the item. Our unused-condition requirement for the extra 30-day promise does not restrict your legal rights.

Something wrong with your order?

Email us with the details. Photos can help, but are not required to exercise your rights. UK customers normally have a 30-day right to reject faulty or misdescribed goods. Rights to a repair, replacement or other remedy can continue after that. These rights apply to made-to-measure items too.

This policy does not limit your statutory rights, including any mandatory rights that apply where you live.

Optional cancellation message

Send to Mind The Fluff at hello@mindthefluff.co.uk: "I give notice that I cancel my order for [items]. Ordered on [date], received on [date]. Order number: [number]. Name: [name]. Address: [address]. Date: [date]." Any other clear cancellation statement is also accepted.

Dachshund harness questions

Do I need a custom dog harness?

Check their measurements against the standard size guide. If they need different proportions, choose CUSTOM above and enter measurements A–D. We’ll make their harness to those measurements.

What is a Y-shaped dog harness?

The straps form a Y at the front of your dog’s chest. Our design leaves space around their shoulders, with adjustment at the neck, chest and underneath.

You may also see this called an H-shaped harness: ours has a Y-shaped front and an H-style strap layout.

What if my dog backs out of harnesses?

This is our everyday adjustable harness. Correct adjustment matters, but we don’t describe it as escape-proof. Tell us how your dog tends to slip out so we can help you choose a suitable option.

How do I put this harness on?

It slips over their head and fastens with the body buckle. Adjust the neck, chest and under-chest straps for their fit.

Where do I attach their lead?

Clip their lead to the ring on the back.

Which parts of the harness adjust?

The neck loop, chest loop and under-chest strap adjust. The strap along the back has a fixed length in each standard size.

How do I choose between Mini, Regular and Roomy?

Compare all four measurements with the dachshund size guide: chest, lower neck, under-chest and back. The neck, chest and under-chest straps adjust; the back strap has a fixed length.

What if their chest and neck fit different sizes?

Compare both the chest and lower-neck measurements with the size chart. If no standard size covers both, choose Custom and provide measurements A–D.

How do I clean it?

Machine wash at 30°C in a wash bag. Check the webbing, buckle and fittings regularly and replace worn or damaged gear.

Can I use this harness in the car?

Yes. Clip one of our dog car seat belts to the ring on the back of the harness, then click the other end into your car's seat belt buckle. Adjust the length so they can sit and lie down comfortably. Never clip a car seat belt to a collar.

How should a dog harness fit?

Snug enough to stay in place, with room to move comfortably. Two flat fingers under the straps are a useful starting check, but finger size and your dog’s build matter too.

  • Check the front. The centre of the Y should sit on the breastbone, below the throat, with the shoulders free to move.
  • Check behind the legs. The chest strap should sit around the ribcage, clear of the armpits. Avoid straps or buckles rubbing behind the front legs.
  • Watch them walk. The harness should stay centred without twisting, digging in or restricting their stride. Check that your dog cannot wriggle backwards out of it in a secure space before heading out.

Recheck after grooming, growth or weight changes. Not sure? Send us a photo of your dog wearing their harness and their measurements in cm — we’ll help you check the fit.
