Hands-free lead length guide

The stated length is the whole lead, before you make a hand, waist or crossbody loop.

Full lead length: 300.0 cm(118.1 in)

Measure your dog, rather than choosing by breed. Check the full range for each measurement.

A smaller loop leaves more lead for your dog. The 3 m lead adds 50 cm to work with.

Your questions, answered.

Do I need a separate belt?

No. Clip the lead back to one of its rings to form a loop around your body or waist. The lead itself makes the loop.

What makes it a double-ended lead?

There’s a metal clip at each end. One connects to your dog’s collar or harness; the other connects to the lead’s rings to change how you wear or hold it.

Can I attach both clips to a harness?

Only if the harness has suitable attachment points and its instructions support that setup. Check its front and back attachments before using both clips.

What if I’d rather hold it?

Reclip the second end to make a loop handle. You can switch back to a handheld setup when that suits the walk better. Hands-free doesn’t stop a dog pulling.

Can I loop it around a bench?

Use a secure fixed point only while you stay beside and supervise your dog. Don’t use it to leave your dog unattended.
