Your questions, answered.

Do I need a custom dog harness?

Check their measurements against the standard size guide. If they need different proportions, choose their print, then select CUSTOM on the product page and enter measurements A–D. We’ll make their harness to those measurements.

What is a Y-shaped dog harness?

The straps form a Y at the front of your dog’s chest. Our design leaves space around their shoulders, with adjustment at the neck, chest and underneath.

You may also see this called an H-shaped harness: ours has a Y-shaped front and an H-style strap layout.

What if my dog backs out of harnesses?

This is our everyday adjustable harness. Correct adjustment matters, but we don’t describe it as escape-proof. Tell us how your dog tends to slip out so we can help you choose a suitable option.

How do I put this harness on?

It slips over their head and fastens with the body buckle. Adjust the neck, chest and under-chest straps for their fit.

Where do I attach their lead?

Clip their lead to the ring on the back.

Which parts of the harness adjust?

The neck loop, chest loop and under-chest strap adjust. The strap along the back has a fixed length in each standard size.

Which measurements decide their standard size?

Use both chest and lower-neck measurements. The size guide lists their adjustable ranges, plus the fixed back length and adjustable under-chest length.

What if their chest and neck fit different sizes?

Compare both the chest and lower-neck measurements with the size chart. If no standard size covers both, choose Custom and provide measurements A–D.

How do I clean it?

Machine wash at 30°C in a wash bag. Check the webbing, buckle and fittings regularly and replace worn or damaged gear.

Can I use this harness in the car?

Yes. Clip one of our dog car seat belts to the ring on the back of the harness, then click the other end into your car's seat belt buckle. Adjust the length so they can sit and lie down comfortably. Never clip a car seat belt to a collar.

Do you make puppy and small dog harnesses?

Yes. Check their chest and lower-neck measurements against the size guide. The neck, chest and under-chest straps adjust, so you can fine-tune the fit within your chosen size range.

How should a dog harness fit?

Snug enough to stay in place, with room to move comfortably. Two flat fingers under the straps are a useful starting check, but finger size and your dog’s build matter too.

  • Check the front. The centre of the Y should sit on the breastbone, below the throat, with the shoulders free to move.
  • Check behind the legs. The chest strap should sit around the ribcage, clear of the armpits. Avoid straps or buckles rubbing behind the front legs.
  • Watch them walk. The harness should stay centred without twisting, digging in or restricting their stride. Check that your dog cannot wriggle backwards out of it in a secure space before heading out.

Recheck after grooming, growth or weight changes. Not sure? Send us a photo of your dog wearing their harness and their measurements in cm — we’ll help you check the fit.
